It gives us great pleasure to advise you that ATOPOS will be taking part in the exhibition WHATEVER’S WHATEVER at the old HIGH SCHOOL of HYDRA. Vassilis Zidianakis and eleven other international artists have been invited to exhibit their work at the eighth HYDRA SCHOOL PROJECT, which takes place during the summer on the island of Hydra.
The HYDRA SCHOOL PROJECT was started in 2000 by Dimi Athanasopoulou and Dimitris Antonitsis with the intention of introducing to Greece and the international public to young and upcoming artists together with more established ones. The doors of the legendary Sahtoureio High school will open on 5th July 2008 for WHATEVER’S WHATEVER, an exhibition curated by Dimitris Antonitsis, based on the American artist Raymond Pettibon’s humorous aquarelle. According to Dimitris, WHATEVER’S WHATEVER presents new trends in painting and how these trends have started to materialize in artists’ studios. The artists have been encouraged to use the classrooms as if their own studios in which to exhibit their latest work. The twelve artists participating in WHATEVER’S WHATEVER are Dimitris Andreadis, Dimitris Antonitsis , Giannis Varelas, Vassilis Zidianakis, Michael Bevilacqua, Dearraindrop, Ry Fyan, Eddie Martinez, Chris Johanson, KalupLinzy, Marilyn Minter and Mika Rottenberg.
Vassilis Zidianakis is exhibiting HYDRA+OP, a development of his installation OP, the CYCLOPS, first shown earlier this year in BULLS EYE SPECIAL 2008, an exhibition held at 21_21 Design Sight by the Miyake Issey Foundation in Tokyo. For HYDRA+OP, Vassilis has presented  the linear  display of  cyclop OP’s  skeleton by  printing it onto

eight erent pieces of perspex, that can then be ar erent ways so as to play visual games using the material's transparent quality.
All proceeds from the sale of Vassilis Zidianakis’s HYDRA+OP will be used for the conservation and restoration of ATOPOS’s collection of paper clothing, and will be presented in the exhibition RRRIPP!! Paper Fashion. The exhibition is accompanied by a catalogue, printed as a traditional Greek school notebook. The exhibition is supported by the Mayor of Hydra, Mr Costas Anastopoulos, and is under the auspices of Greece Consular Corps.
