ATOPOS Contemporary Visual Culture at The Watermill Center Voluptuous Panic: The 18th Annual Watermill Summer Benefit
The Cultural Organisation ATOPOS Contemporary Visual Culture (ATOPOS CVC) has been invited by Robert Wilson, Artistic Director of The Watermill Center, to participate in the 18th Watermill Summer Benefit, on Saturday, July 30 2011 at 18:00, in New York. ATOPOS CVC will present Atopic Bodies [EIGHT]: The Voluptuous Panic Attackers.
Atopic Bodies [EIGHT]: The Voluptuous Panic Attackers is a performance organised by ATOPOS CVC in collaboration with the French artist and haute coiffeur Charlie Le Mindu, specially conceived for the 18th Watermill Summer Benefit. 'The Voluptuous Panic Attackers', will escape from ATOPOS CVC and Charlie Le Mindu's sensual universe and will 'attack' the evening's guests establishing their sensual personas.
The first collaboration between ATOPOS CVC and Charlie Le Mindu (works also with Lady Gaga, Carri Mundane and Peaches, amongst others) was in May 2010 with Atopic Bodies [ONE] and the creation of Mr. & Mrs. Myth, characters specially conceived for ART-ATHINA Art fair. In January 2011, on the occasion of the MOEBIUS-TRANSE-FORME exhibition at Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain, Paris, ATOPOS CVC and Charlie Le Mindu presented the performance Atopic Bodies [THREE]: The Leiotrichous Tribe.
Le Mindu is one of the participating artists in ATOPOS CVC's publication entitled NOT A TOY. Fashioning Radical Characters (Pictoplasma Publishing, Berlin) and in the ARRRGH! Monsters in Fashion exhibition (Benaki Museum, Athens).
