RRRIPP!! RAP
The RRRIPP!! Adoption Programme
When a new paper dress enters the ATOPOS collection, it is immediately catalogued and researched; it is then passed to the conservator, who will inspect and assess its condition. Once this has been ascertained, the item is conserved and restored. Finally, it is photographed before being placed in its very own storage box.
The ATOPOS collection consists of more than 400 paper dresses from the 1960s – the largest collection in the world! This number does not include about 70 other paper garments which we have discovered in the course of our research, such as 17th cent Japanese kimonos, ceremonial clothes for the dead, hats, bags, underwear and even a bikini!
Unfortunately we have only been able to conserve about one third of our collection. By adopting a paper dress from the ATOPOS collection, you will be enabling us to continue the restoration programme.
If you decide to adopt a paper dress from the ATOPOS collection, your name will always be associated with it, by appearing after its title whenever and wherever it is mentioned or exhibited. You will also become a FRIEND of ATOPOS, helping us to continue the research and development of future projects, you will receive a complimentary copy of the exhibition’s extensive catalogue, and you will be kept advised of and invited to any future events organized by ATOPOS.
